Beautiful Black Labrador up for adoption....

Extracted from a forum

Words from the owner:
We will be re-locating in 2 weeks. We need to URGENTLY find a good home for Velvet, our black labrador retriever. She is from the USA and from a champion bloodline. I have her pedigree papers. She has an excellent temperament, very calm and loving. She gets along very well with children as she grew up with my four children. SHE IS AN EXTREMELY OBEDIENT, GENTLE AND UNDEMANDING DOG.

Velvet is in excellent health. She is sterilized and very fit, even though she is 9 years old. She gets along very well with other dogs, and she is a HIGHLY TRAINED and OBEDIENT dog who would make an EXCELLENT COMPANION for any dog-loving family.

Please call or SMS me on 9188-0342 if you or anyone you know can give her a home. I'd be forever thankful.

P.S: Do give this sweet girl a chance...I am sure she still has many many good years to come...please don't deprive her of the chance to live...if any of you think that you might be just the one to give Velvet a chance, please contact the number listed above..time is running out and i sincerely hope this sweet gal will be able to find a new home soon...really dread to tink what will happen if she is really sent to SPCA :(

Thank you so much Rayne for posting this on your site.

Velvet was adopted today morning by an extremely kind lady.

The adopter had lost her golden retriever 2 months ago to old age. When she read the notice for a tame and older retriever-lab she said she felt an immediate affinity to Velvet.

We brought Velvet down to the lady's house and both took to each other immediately! As written in the notice, Velvet really is a beautiful dog with an incredible temperament and it isn't difficult for people to fall in love with her, despite her age.

Although sad to say good-bye to her old family, Velvet was soon busy exploring the huge garden in her new house.:)

I couldn't have wished for a happier "ending" to a potentially tragic situation.

Hi Rayne,

I don't have pictures, but the ex-owner called me to tell me that VELVET is doing well in her new home, and seems to have settled in. Although she didn't eat the first day - by the 3rd day she was eating and in good spirits.

It can't be easy on Velvet to leave her family after 9 years. But hopefully, with time, love and a lot of care from her new owners -her old family will become a happy memory for her, and not a sad one.

Thanks again for concern and all your help. It's much appreciated.:)
